The Highlands Mining Series three drill rig has taken over ten years to develop and we believe that it is the best product on the market. It is built to the highest of Australian standards and offers the consumer great reliability. We have found over the course of developing and using drill rigs for the mining industry that the major issue is not being able to maintain a consistent compressed air supply to the rigs. This became our main focus when designing the series 3. Highlands Mining designed an air/hydraulic power pack that requires as little as 40psi to maintain operation, in most cases using less air than a portable gopher style drill system. Highlands mining has taken 18 months to trial our new Low Air Motor Power Pack and now offers this Power Pack in its new Series 3 (LP) we have also retro fitted this Power Pack to older Series 2 drill Rigs with outstanding improvements in performance in some cases doubling Bolt Installation per shift. Not only does the new Power Pack operate in low air pressures but only requires 60 PSI maximum for peak operation and operates with >20% extra power. Maintenance is reduced by doing away with the coupling set up connecting the Motor to the Pump and the new Motor has no crankcase and only requires air lubrication from the oiler. The Highlander series 3 was built primarily for secondary support, however it is currently being used in some areas for primary support as well. The highlander can also be used in other applications such as, installation of rib bolts, Drilling the floor, Coring and drilling and Inseam drilling. With its narrow width of 1.5m the Highlander is able to fit alongside belts and roadway, making it possible for transport machinery to pass while the rig is in operation. To comply with current mine and state legislation Highlands Mining has completed a comprehensive FMEA document (Design Risk Assessment) Click here to view some samples of this document. Highlands Mining also offers on site assistance with commissioning and training.
