5/17/15: Acts 8:1-8 was a tough moment in the early days of the church. Stephen was just martyred and persecution was breaking out against the church in Jerusalem, forcing them to scatter. This was a moment of testing and truth. Adversity also raise questions ... Why do bad things happen? Do all things happen for a reason? Romans 8:28 usually comes into play about now. Yet, we need to be careful in how we apply such a verse. What does it really mean? What can be learned from the bad that happens? What are the lessons from adversity? The "boll weevil" helps it all make sense.
