"Thinking In Textures," is an interactive visual experience influenced by the works of contemporary electronic music artist, Tsuruda. This project is the start of a series of audio/visual installations that strive to transform music into textural and seemingly tangible experiences. In this project sound is used as a form of material, represented through both the texture and movement of the 3D imagery throughout the song. As the song progresses, the visual elements not only repeat themselves but become increasingly chaotic, bringing the viewers into the progressive journey of the musical experience. Our mind has a natural tendency to interpret what kind of object would give rise to sound. I strive to show the similarity in structure between sounds that exist in the material world with synthesized electronic sounds. I likewise wish to explore how inspiration is being redefined by new technological mediums within our society.
