ROLE: Actor, Writer, Director, Visual FX, Editor Dec 2015 ______ BACKGROUND: From 2014-2016, I was a producer and content creator for "Tonight in San Diego," a variety-style talk show that was independently created by a group of comedians, live event production specialists, and me. Our task was to not only film live interviews and performances with local San Diego talent, but to come up with comedy performances and sketches to fill out the beginning of the show. This concept came from me when I asked my TISD pals if they would be down to have a lightsaber battle with me. They asked politely that I write a story around that, so I did. I ended up being extremely proud of what we made - a scifi comedy with multiple locations, costumes, fight choreography, props, a large crew of volunteers and Star Wars fans, and yes - lightsaber battles. This was a team effort of 15 friends coming together to create the most ambitious short film for our December "finale" episode. I spent over 40 hours rotoscoping the VFX, and spent 8 hours throwing my body around Sunset Cliffs in an attempt to look cool (stunt day). This was one of my earliest projects, so I learned a lot - but I will never forget how much fun I had. It was a great way to get excited for The Force Awakens. _____ WHAT I LEARNED FROM THIS SHOOT: Always bring plenty of food and water to a shoot, Shoot restaurant scenes in empty restaurants, How to be a Jedi (thanks, Andrew Kramer) WHAT I WOULD DO DIFFERENTLY: Use a tighter lens + stabilizer for the fight scenes, Check your color temperature settings throughout the day, Take an acting class ______ Featuring Jack Grubb, Keith Foster, Jesse Egan, Jeff Krapf, Meryl Klemow, Jaime Gamblin, Richie Estrada, Ronnell Morris, Kyle Wright, Trish and Chris Naval, Ruben Ochosa CAMERA: Fale Luis, Andrew Ackerson AUDIO: McAndy Duclos STUNTS/FIGHT CHOREOGRAPHER: Ruben Ochosa SOUND DESIGN: Fale Luis
