Join us on August 19th to celebrate the first ever World Rohingya Day organized by Burma Task Force USA. This event begins a campaign that raises awareness of the worsening situation of Rohingyas and other Burmese Muslims. Despite the fanfare surrounding the first 100 days of Aung Suu Kyi’s administration, little has been done to resolve Rohingya issue. Moreover, Ramadan 2016 saw the situation worsen because of the following factors: -Aung Suu Kyi formally asked the world not to use the term Rohingya; -Attacks on Rohingyas and other Burmese Muslims have increased -And the US election and Brexit have seen a politically motivated rise in Islamophobic hate speech. Burma Task Force USA wants to stop the division and help build bridges of peace between all ethnic and religious groups.
