This is what I saw here in the New York Area. I shot this through a cheapo zoom so came out dark and noisy. A lunar eclipse tonight will coincide with the 2010 winter solstice — the longest night of the year — making this an especially dark yet historic night. A lunar eclipse hasn’t overlapped with the winter solstice since Dec. 21, 1638, and won’t happen again until December of 2094 — making this the only time we’ll see this in our lifetime.
