They say the woods are a peaceful residence, but soot beasts would likely disagree. Magical spirits brush shoulders as they wisp through the foggy forest floors, examining their mischievous ground critters rummaging for their next meal. Quaint ponds peacefully shimmer underneath moonlit redwood trees as colorful fish can be seen swimming below. All of this, and still the forest remains a dark mystery when the sunlight dips underneath the mountainous sheets of purple and grey. Warmth is sapped from the ground by a frigid breeze that blankets the forest floor. The only creatures that aren't affected by imminent death are the neon ladies. Into the depths they bring life to the unknown creatures of the night. Dark, shadowless creatures that know but only one thing: consume all. As day fades into night, these creatures are unleashed into the foggy depths to induldge. They thrive and survive on the minds of the weary, strengthening their armies by the numbers. A bleak evening reveals many of these soot beasts. Which creature will the neon ladies create next? Original short film & short story written, edited, and recorded by myself.
