Denver, Colorado is filled with many of Japanese restaurants and stores. In the little man-hours, I had, I filmed my trip to Domo on Colfax and Osage, as well as, Sakura Square on 19th and Larimer. I love these areas because Domo has great food and the aesthetics makes you fill like you’re in the Edo period in Japan, and Sakura Square has a grocery store with imported food items from Japan. For the project, my original idea was to make more of a narrative, but was pressed for time. Most of the work was in the post-production. I added anime characters because anime originates in Japan. I’d chosen the most moé characters of the past seasons, for that is where anime is heading towards. The first character is named Yuuri Wakasa from Gakkou Gurashi!, a series about four girls a part of the School Living Club trapped in their own school due to a zombie outbreak. She was a part of the Gardening Club as well and there is a garden at Domo. The second character is named Tsumugi Inuzuka from Amaama to Inazuma, a series about a girl who likes tasty, exotic food whose father can’t cook but gets help from a student from the same school he teaches at. There is lots of food at Sakura Square because there is a restaurant and a grocery store that serves Japanese food and ingredients. Long story short, Colorado is a good place to venture out Japanese-related places.
