" This is your life and it's ending one minute at a time. " In 1999, Fight Club came out. It was the most controversial movie of the last decade of XX century and it opened the doors to a new way to make postmodern cinema. Based on Chuck Palahniuk's book, David Fincher made a standout and visually astonishing psychological thriller, thanks to a production unit and film crew which setted a perfect and unique mood, to a superb cast(Pitt, Norton, Bonham Carter) and to a brilliant script written by Jim Uhls. Generational, satirical, politically incorrect, the fourth movie of David Fincher represents the alienation in a modern alienated society of a young yuppie who find a new way in violence, upsetting the established order, after meeting the charismatic Tyler Durden, an intriguing guy with a different perspective of life. Alienation and violence are the keywords of this personal tribute. I hope you enjoy my personal "experience" of watching a prophetic, never seen before and after masterpiece such as Fight Club.
