These five short videos are audio-visual treatments of stories told by my maternal grandfather, Doctor Edward Bierer, who was a master at passing slow moments with a good yarn. I would certainly credit him as one of my major influences as a dramatist, and as a compulsive stretcher of the truth. You can occasionally hear interjections by grandmother, Esther Sarver Bierer, as well. (They often had a kind of "tag team" approach to storytelling.) Katherine Weider commissioned the series for the Play Gallery and Michigan Public Media in 2006. The works were premiered on Michigan Public Television, during interstitial moments between programs.
