Our new digital reconstruction is the first to be created of early sixteenth-century Edinburgh and is based on a drawing from 1544 (the earliest relatively realistic depiction of the capital). The reconstruction gives an overview of the townscape of the sixteenth-century burgh, with a particular focus on the Royal Mile – the historic spine of Edinburgh.
