This piece is a lighting exercise as well as an exercise in reverse-concept design. It was conducted with Jama Jurabaev's "Intro to 3D Concept Design" Programme on Learn Squared. The goal was to recreate the lighting conditions in a movie scene. After modelling and texturing all the elements in 3D Coat, we were encouraged to exploit the Marmoset Toolbag Renderer to exploit its excellent lighting and camera animation features in order to generate a work of concept design in motion. I chose an iconic moment from Empire Of The Sun, where a young Christian Bale comes face to face with a Japanese "Zero Fighter" under repair.
