All the ghost wanted was to play but would you play with her? Every year CCTV China organizes a film competition where they bring professional filmmaking teams from all over the world. In 2016 the event was held in Suqian and was attended by a renowned jury made up of film industry officials in Asia. Each team is given a specific location and topic and they must shoot and edit a film in only 48 hours. In October 2016 our team STONJAUS managed to rank on the top 4 and bring “Best Sound” for Hui Hui Chua, “Best Cinematography” for Steven Xenos and the “Excellent Film” award with the film “Play with me”. This was not the first time the team gets awards in this kind of competitions, the previous year they also got “Excellent Film” and “Best Actress” for joy Kim, but this year the competition was even harder because they only screened the top 4 films. “it’s always a challenge to join this kind of competitions because every team is very strong, some of them had very experienced directors in the Chinese film industry”. Janice says: “the most exciting thing about the competition is the ceremony awards there is a huge audience and you don’t know anything until they show your trailer on the big screen; I feel very honored to be part of the top 4 films, every film was amazing! It’s incredible to see what people can make in only 48 hours” STONJAUS team approached the project with a goal in mind, they knew the judges will appreciate if they try a different style and still manage to entertain the audience so they went for Horror even though it was their first time trying this genre. they wrote the story with the objective of having a strong climax and with the help of sounds hook the audience and give them something special for this kind of competition. STONJAUS is a group of passionate filmmakers, they recently shot another film in Bali with the help of sponsors from China; they are also working on the post-production of their latest short film and at the same time are gathering a team to shoot a feature film in China.
