Our society is getting smarter every day. Around 29 billion connected devices are predicted to exist by 2022, from which about 18 billion will be related to the Internet of Things: connected cars, machines, houses, wearables and other consumer electronics. The goal is to ultimately extend our human experience by increasing the control we have on our private and social environment. HOME SMART HOME * (2017) is a multi-channel film installation showing a slightly-dystopian scenario difference in which it seems to be no difference between ‘being in control’ and ‘being controlled’. Resembling a typical Control Center Set Up, the character (data producer) is observed, measured, analysed and "directed" by his own smart objects within his own very ‘private’ space. The boundaries between what is considered private and what is considered public are completely blurred. *this specific film is a one-screen translation, intended for web viewing only.
