rophetic Thought: Do we truly believe God is present with us at all times? In our busy lives, do we find ourselves distracted, off course, frustrated, abandoned, angry and feeling very alone? Are we so distracted by all the noise around us that we start to listen and believe the noise? God’s heart for us is to remain connected to Him and know that He is present and listening at every moment. Yet, why at times can He feel so distant? If we want to get into His presence, then we first recognize that He is nearer to us that than we think. Actually, He never left. Jesus says “abide in me”. If we want to stay connect to the source, we have recognize that the source never left. Application: God’s desire for us is to abide in His love. If we want to remain in that love, we must start making a conscious decision to recognize that He is in fact present. Without knowing it, we might have been so distracted that we wandered away from His presence. If we are distracted while hanging out with a loved one, spending time with a friend or at a kids practice, they will begin to notice. It will start damaging the relationship, because we are physically there without being there mentally. Once we recognize what’s getting in our way, we can put it aside and be present with them. This is the same with God. When we recognize His presence, the distractions start melting away and we start experiencing Him. What do we have to disconnect from that has been distracting our attention? Then we will find ourselves speaking to Him directly at all times, in times of uncertainty and in times of confidence.
