www.freedom-divers.com On one of our recent expeditions, we decided to attempt filming the notoriously shy Thresher Sharks in Malapascua. Through our studies os sharks, we have learnt that- contrary to popular belief- they are not interested in the smell of blood (confirmed by a recent documentary on the Animal Planet) and are far more prone to take an interest in electrical impulses. Sharks are equipped with lateral lines running down the sides of their whole bodies and can easily detect even the faintest heartbeat from a long distance. Repeated exposure over a 10 day period to the electrical impulses generated by our camera equipment, allowed us to get some exceptional footage of these timid animals. The last shot is a cracker!
