This is a favourite of mine. Out of ideas, I had to produce a 2 minute piece about the arrival of Owen Glenn in New Zealand for Close up. He'd flown from Monaco into Wellington to give evidence against Winston Peters at a select committee hearing. Almost no cutaways, numerous on-the-fly quotes I had to get in, only camera mic sound at the airport... a News Editor's nightmare. Time for a music video :-) I had to do a lot of music editing to get around the lyrics of the Prodigy track "Smack my bitch up" and sadly there was no appropriate moment to use the wonderful breakdown in it. This piece was produced in a very short amount of time but managed to incorporate no less than 6 different field tapes and tells the story of Owen Glenn's entire day in Wellington which no other TV news entity pulled off. This edit even manages to reference the original "Smack my bitch up" video by using one point-of-view shot depicting the media gauntlet awaiting Mr Glenn.
