9.11 In Memorium

This is a song I wrote and recorded with my then band Hyde around and about Sept 11th. With 10 year anniversary coming up on Sunday, I am reminded of why it's important not just to be uber-vigilant, but to also have a heightened sense of community. This song is about rising from the ashes as I like to believe we have done. This Sunday, I dedicate it to a refocus on the need for community as we recall where we were, where we are, where we're going. Credits This video was created by animation artists from 30 countries commemorating the 10th anniversary of 9/11 The song was written by me but performed and evolved by my then band Hyde with very good friends and bandmates of mine as shown below. Hyde is (ok was): Jose Andrade: Vocals, rhythym guitar Rich Wiener: Background vocals & lead guitar Carlos Cabrales: Bass Marc L. Steve: Drums Thank you guys for always inspiring my muse Phoenix - written and composed by Jose Andrade 9/2001. Recorded and performed with Hyde Shaken my mind and my heart just followed Jarred my impression now my soul feels hollow A scream inside never seemed satisfied An inner dream never made it to the light An inner dream never made it through the plight Smoke in the sky says it's time to sorrow Smoke in my eyes soaked into tomorrow I fight so I can feel rectified Search for the lost let another angel reach the sky Search for a cause through a dense fog see a clear night - Though I feel lost I feel my way out - I look to the sky - I look for the sun - i look for the light When the evil flies The phoenix will rise Open my mind to a new tomorrow Precious and few are the moments we borrow Color blind, now our eyes and hearts are unified Ashes once grey will give way to new flight Faces dismayed will give way to a smile - Though I feel lost I feel my way out - I look to the sky - I look for the sun - i look for the light When the evil flies The phoenix will rise - Though I feel lost feel so lost I feel my way out - I look to the sky - I look for the sun - i look for the light When the evil flies The phoenix will rise
