There are few words to describe the atrocity that is Stag Hunting. Yesterday, The Quantock Stag Hounds plunged the Quantock Hills of West Somerset into chaos and blood lust once more as they chased a big stag from Crowcombe Park Gate down into the Slaugherhouse Combes and through the cover of the combes into Holford. From Holford they forced the stag on with him eventually giving up his life to these beasts somehwere in Kilve. Stags at the moment are in poor body condition, from defending their Hinds during the Rut, they eat very little and barely sleep. The Quantock Stag Hounds know this and took advantage of this stunning king of the forest for their depraved amusement. Somerset Wildlife Crime working with Hounds off both have a compendium of files which will be forwarded to police over the next few days. It is time to clean up the Quantocks. The shame of Somerset.
