Ramy Youssef won a Golden Globe award and Emmy nominations for his semi-autobiographical show Ramy on Hulu. The story of a first-generation Egyptian-American trying to figure out where he fits between two vastly-different cultures, Ramy finds humor in the clash. Our main title for the show does too. Simple, bold, graphic, it’s a tale told in two types: Compared with the straight-sided blockishness of the English alphabet, the Arabic script used to write colloquial Egyptian, is a flowing dance. Putting the two on the screen together provides fantastic contrast--the perfect metaphor for the show.
