The Cold War was coming to an end, with the fall of the Berlin Wall and the upheaval of many communist governments in Eastern Europe. It was a time of much military action, as well as a year with a lot of military-related films and video games. And it was the year that the Little Mermaid hit theaters, returning Disney to it's former glory and beginning the Disney Renaissance. So sit back, relax, and take a grand pop culture nostalgia trip to the year 1989!
