You can donate to my GoFundMe page at: https://www.gofundme.com/help-cecil-fight-cancer Hello, my name is Cecil Ramirez and I need your help. I am a 51 year old woman living in Miami, FL with cancer. Five years ago, I was diagnosed with kidney (renal cell carcinoma) cancer. Upon my diagnosis I underwent many treatments. Ultimately my kidney was removed to prevent the cancer from spreading further. I believed that my nightmare was over. Unfortunately, the cancer has returned now in my spine and I am now struggling to get by day to day due to the medical expenses and other bills which are pilling up. Last May, a routine MRI and PET scan revealed that the cancer has returned. I now have three tumors in my sacrum (the base of the lumbar vertebrae, connected to the pelvis). After six rounds of radiation in my L1 vertebrae to try and fight the cancer, my L1 vertebrae broke. In March 2019, I had surgery to fix my broken vertebrae. My doctors believe that I will need another surgery again next year. I am in constant pain. My body is struggling to fight this deadly disease. Because of the necessary treatments, my back is covered in painful burns and lacerations which make daily life so difficult. I am currently undergoing immunotherapy every two weeks at the Lennar Medical Center in Miami. I am currently being administered Nivolumab, a chemotherapy drug and Zometa, to treat my bone damage. To help manage my pain, deal with the spasms, I am being given Fentanyl Transdermal Patches, Tramadol, Gabapentin and Cyclobenzaprine. The cost of fighting cancer has become a financial burden and I can no longer afford the treatments that I need to survive. I am unable to work due to my deteriorating health and I have used up what little savings I had trying to pay for my ongoing treatments. As a result I have lost my home, I can no longer pay rent. I cannot even afford my basic living expenses. Thanks to their kindness, I have been living on the couch of a friend. But I have now become a burden as they are unable to support me any longer. I am living in a constant state of stress. Every day, I receive calls from doctors and hospitals asking for payment on treatments. I do not have the funds to pay for them or other treatments that I still need. Today, I am asking for your generosity to help me fight my spine cancer. I am fighting for my life. Any amount that you are able to donate will help me pay for my cancer treatments. I truly appreciate your help during this difficult time in my life. Please help me if you can. Update on 6/10/19: Thank you to everyone who has made a donation to my campaign! Unfortunately I need to have an urgent, second surgery. It is so hard for to ask for your help again but I am truly desperate... I am continuing my treatments here in Miami but the pain has become so unbearable. Walking has become nearly impossible for me. My days are consumed with great pain and I spend most of my day crying from the constant pain that I feel. I will need another surgery. This is only three months after my initial surgery. A recent CT scan has shown that the tumours in my vertebrae have collapsed and are now calcified. As the tumours collapse further I am at risk of my entire vertebrae collapsing. I desperately need to have this surgery to prevent that from happening. The surgery is scheduled for next month, July 2019, and I will have to pay an out of pocket cost of nearly $4,000. I do not know how I will pay for this surgery. Please help me in any way that you can and share this with anyone you think is also able to help. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart!
