2009-03-28 0 736 Vimeo

"Time for Justice" is a series of 3 educational films on the Khmer Rouge Tribunal in Cambodia. This first film focuses on the nature of the crimes against humanity committed by the 1975 - 1979 Khmer Rouge Regime. The films, commissioned by the Asia International Justice Initiative (AIJI) with funds provided by the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office through the British Embassy in Phnom Penh, describe the reasons for the establishment of the tribunal to a general audience in Cambodia. The films have been shown on Cambodian television as well as to live audiences in cities and villages throughout the country. The Asian International Justice Initiative is a collaborative project between the East-West Center, Honolulu and the UC Berkeley War Crimes Studies Center. Since 2003, the two Centers have been collaborating on projects relating to the establishment of justice initiatives and capacity-building programs in the human rights sector in South-East Asia.
