A glimpse into the journey to success of Dr. Martha Cayad-an, a local from Benguet, who now works as a health & nutrition specialist, and doctor for UNICEF. Ako Ikaw, translated as I Am You or Sak-en Sik-a in Igorot dialect, is not just a typical success story. It rises above the common yet bent perception of the indigenous people as the ‘inferior other’, and only shows how by passion and firm resolve, the indigenous and non-indigenous people are more alike than different. ___ A film featuring Dr. Martha Cayad-an- Health & Nutrition Specialist- UNICEF, Philippines Written, shot, edited, scored, colored, & directed by Pampy Mañalac Original Music by Joshua Gapasin Co-written by Lia Del Castillo SPECIAL THANKS TO: Jennifer & Merly Julian (Actors) VJ Matias, Joanna Malinis, & Marikit Singson (Videographers) Dr. Ruben Cayad-an & Eder Del Castillo (Production Assts) Marc San Valentin, Kara Ortiga, & Emma Olivia Mañalac for all the inspiration, struggle, inspiration!!
