Hello Summer is 8 minute-long comedy film for children and their parents about a family, that expects to have the best summer holiday ever but instead they end up going through a rollercoaster of troubles until they find out what their holiday is really about. When mom, dad, boy and girl finally arrive to the destination, the hotel looks slightly different, the view is not exactly the same as in the holiday catalogue, the hotel pool is not the most inviting place to jump into, the food is even more exotic than they expected, and all the fun places are closed. However, after all these troubles they finally reach their dreamy paradise. It is starting to rain. When the cloud finally moves aside, they are all frustrated, they get angry at each other and everyone goes their own way. They enjoy being alone for some time. But soon the father gets a big sunburn because there is no one around to put a suncreen on him. The mom needs advice on which dress suits her better, but there is no one around. The boy who usually avoids his noisy younger sister realizes that he lacks the noise. And the little girl finds out that it is not so easy to build a big sand castle by herself. Well they start to miss each other and so the meet again to create something great together and realize that it does not really matter how many stars are on the hotel. What is really important is the time family spends together, with all the unexpected challenges to face. This film will be made as a combination of hand-drawn animation and a stop-motion animation of objects. The idea is dated back to my childhood, when we used to travel to summer holiday with my parents. I often get bored, and to entertain myself I usually took a blank sheet of paper and put some object on it. Than i took a pencil and drawn something on the paper, which changed this object to something new, usually to something bigger and funnier. Hello Summer will be 8 minutes long animated film for children aged 6-9 years, with no dialogue, being coproduced by Czech republic and Slovakia at the moment.
