I made this little film during my lockdown time in London, it is set in Beckenham Park in the south east of the city. Like many others, I’ve spent a lot of weeks away from home and my family because of the COVID19 pandemic. I come from a little village in the north of Italy, in one of the areas most hit by the virus. I made this film as a way to feel connected with my beloved country. The music is a version of ‘Bella ciao’, one of the most famous and meaningful songs in Italian culture, celebrating resistance and freedom. These two words are now, as then, very important for Italy, as it continues to fight against the brutality of the pandemic. I also made this film to have some fun with video making and editing, which is something I don’t normally have time to do when I’m working with the company. It was also born out of the urgency to move, to create, to let the music drive my body, feel positive and alive in this surreal time we’re living. A big thank you to my boyfriend, Jack Butler, who was the best camera-man and collaborator I could ever ask for! Enjoy “Frenetica e composta”
