50 years ago, mayor AV Sorensen brought together a group of area leaders with the vision of creating one of the best Boys Clubs in the nation. With the support of that initial group, the Club was able to thrive and grow over the next 50 years. On May 12, history repeated itself. Community supporters came together to help us throw our biggest and best event to date, bringing in more than $800,000 in one evening. The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Midlands is humbled and honored to have such overwhelming support from the community. With such support, we’ll be sure to have an even brighter future in the next 50 years. The evening featured incredible performances from current Club youth, alumni and two-time Grammy-winning / Boys & Girls Clubs of America Hall of Fame performers- Kool & The Gang. Thanks to all who came out and showed their support!
