No such thing as noise Noise is often employed as a word for things one doesn’t understand. or, looking at it another way, within noise may lie information. An example is the “noise” in between radio stations in which is encoded information from the beginnings of the universe. This talk will look at noise from the point of view of searching for sense - both in terms of information and aesthetic value - among its apparent randomness, with reference to my work, in particular to The Centre of the Universe, a sculptural radio observatory.
