Director Statement: "The Tale of Xeus is a short film made as a proof of concept. Even though the narrative of the film is very straight forward, the aesthetic and the dialogues are anything but simple. Because it’s a proof of concept, most of the dialogues have a backstory if you listen closely. Every word is chosen carefully to show that each character has a lot more history than what we see in the film. Taken some inspiration from Ambrose Bierce’s An Inhabitants of Carcosa, with the King in Yellow, history of American Revolution, with some generic sci-fi elements; The Tale of Xeus is one chapter of a book from all this universe of ideas. With hopes and dreams, perhaps one day we can see the full story of Xeus in a film or series of films. I also would like to give praise to the cast and crew that managed to make this film possible."
