'Revenge of the Read' - Short Film (2010) Directed by Matthew Webb Produced by Laura Tija Edited by Vonne Patiag Synopsis: A collection of discarded classic toys wage war on modern technology in order to win the attention of their owner. Creative Exegesis: I was approached to edit this stop-motion/live action short film and found it to be an interesting exercise in editing. Stop motion definitely is a time consuming workflow, as each frame had to be personally tweaked, with some sequences requiring photoshop frame by frame. Originally, working with a 24fps timeline base, we doubled the frame rate (deciding on 12fps i.e. double frames per frame) which seemed the perfect speed to recreate real time movement and also the jarring movement of the playful clunky toys.
