Kosovo combat vet/Army paratrooper Fabian Rebolledo lived in LA legally for 24 yrs. He was deported over a bad check. Hector Barajas grew up in Compton w/a #greencard, served 7 yrs in the U.S Army, and was also deported for life. Though military service can speed up the process of becoming a citizen, it's not automatic. There is no official record kept for the number of deported US military veterans. Barajas, leader of the group "Banished Veterans," says 500-1000 deported vets live in Tijuana and Rosarito, Mexico. Published by the Fronteras Desk, http://www.fronterasdesk.org.
