Ireland Trad Music

2009-08-29 3 0 Vimeo

This is a four minute video which was shot mostly in a traditional Irish pub called the Palace Bar in June 2009. It is located in the arts/music/food district of Dublin known as Temple Bar. The musicians in the video are basically jamming on "trad" (traditional) music. They are not a "group" as such. The evening started with about 5 players and ended with about 13! And each player seemed to down a whole pint of Guinness per song... I shot the video on a tiny Sony "Webbie HD" camera. It doesn't have very good low-light capability and its microphones aren't great, but the spirit of the evening is all there. So, I apologize for the very grainy video and the sometimes-distorted audio (made worse by the fact that I sat right next to the bodhrán drummer!). I also included some still photos from the areas in and around Dingle and Dublin. These look much better than the motion video sections. Kay and I REALLY enjoyed the pub music -- I hope you do, too! - Sam Parsons
