CONVERSATIONS WITH MY GRANDFATHER ____________________________________ My love for story telling was birthed I think from my grandfather. When I was young my sisters and I would go to my grandfather's house for breakfast and then walk to school so my mom could get to work by 6am. We formed the breakfast club and my grandfather was the "milk pourer." After breakfast he would tell stories. Mostly about the war and about growing up during the Great Depression. While I didn't care much at the time, as I grew up I found myself telling others of these stories from my grandfather. Then it dawned on me, my love of a good story comes from him. This film is just part of a much grander conversation that I captured on film covering many aspects of his life. The shots aren't the most amazing, I ran out of space on my camera and had to film part with my iPhone, but it was a real and raw moment learning things about my grandfather that I have never known before.
