MODERN MUTANTS explores the fascinating new trends of body modification where young ‘bodmod’ enthusiasts want to transform their bodies into comic and mythical characters. Body Haktivism was coined to define a movement of artists, researchers and thinkers who sought to use body modification as a medium. Influenced by manga culture, comics and science fiction, this experimental movement aims to incorporate the flesh with technology. Modern Mutants will explore and meet the pioneers of this new trend and our host Paloma, will observe an actual science-fiction inspired transformation, combining flesh with active technology to create real-life cyborgs.
