Hi - this is a first draft of a soundwalk I'm producing as part of Betsey's Biggs' Sonic Psychogeography project, November 2009. LADD OBSERVATORY SOUNDWALK SUGGESTIONS Observatory is open 7-9 pm every Tuesday night, weather permitting. Located at the corner of Hope and Doyle. 210 Doyle Ave Providence, RI 02906, USA. Before you begin: Load the MP3 file onto your handheld listening device. (12/1/12: Sorry - link to audio file is currently not available). Go to the observatory, put on headphones, and start the audio! 1. Chime. LAWN. Begin on the front lawn. Wander the grounds. Look up. 2. Chime. FOYER. Enter the observatory. Remain in the foyer. Circle the foyer. 3. Chime. MAIN HALL. Exit the foyer, go further into the building. Remain in the hallway between the Transparency Room and the Lecture Room. Examine the clock and the globes. 4. Chime. TRANSPARENCY ROOM. Enter the Transparency Room. Explore. 5. Chime. HALL and STAIRS. Exit the Transparency Room. Turn right, then right again, and go upstairs. Go out onto the balcony. 6. Chime. BALCONY. Circle the balcony. Look through any telescopes that may be set up. 7. Chime. TELESCOPE ROOM. Enter the telescope room. Look through the telescope. 8. Chime. BALCONY. Go back to the balcony. Circle. 9. Chime. STAIRS. Go downstairs. 10. Chime. LAWN. Go outside. Look up.
