'Village in a School' traces the journey of three architects from the UK who specialise in social development projects that uses architecture as a tool to bring together the community they work in. The architects from WORKSHOP architecture lived with the community of Hariharpur, a non-discrepant village in the Azamgarh district of UP, for a period of three months wherein the entire village came together and become a part of the building process. The village has a 300-year old tradition of Hindustani classical music and the lack of quality education compels parents to send their children away which threatens the village's lineage. Joining hands with the Indian Trust for Rural Heritage and Development, a Delhi based NGO, and the British Council, the architects built a school in Hariharpur that would be run by the women of the village and help preserve it's legacy by keeping their children within the community.
