Suicide has always been a curious subject matter to me and the idea of someone so tired and so exhausted by their issues that they are convinced that ending their life would just stop the pain is a very justified and normal thought. In 2010, there were roughly 33 thousand deaths from motor vehicles in the united states and that same year there were roughly 38 thousand deaths from suicide. So the struggle is real. But since I'm an optimist I truly believe that there is something that could change their minds. We're all different so I wouldn't necessarily say there is one way to deal with it. Therapy, support groups, a word, a quote, a memory, a hopeful idea could all very well be the hero. In this "film", we show how the power of love can save a life. So I wrote the script for Sky and its about a suicidal young writer, Justin, who has basically isolated himself from his family and friends after the death of his brother. And while he's in that extreme depressed state of mind an eccentric burglar show up name Sky who has a very unconventional logic on EVERYTHING sort of metaphorically breaks into...his world. Its very much so a love story The story and the characters are so 3 dimensional from opinions about relationships, debates about religion, lessons learned through friendships, forgiveness and a lot more in which I think that after watching the film you would leave with something special and even a favorite character maybe. Now, with that being said, I am not a celebrity, I am not an internet sensation with thousands of fans. So this "film" will have to solely rely on its premise to raise all $100,000. I can make a film for a lot less. But I won't be able to make THIS film the way I envisioned it with all of its stylized cinematography using set design and coloring with lighting to convey Justin's emotions and to get the audience down to rock bottom with him and feel what he's going through in a very raw and artsy way. The more money we raise the less I have to compromise with creativity and production value. We have reached out to many name actors and so far reps of Emma Watson, Tim Roth, Antonia Thomas, Patricia Heaton and some others have found an interest in the synopsis and requested the script. Even more have asked if we were fully funded yet so that's our dilemma. Our goal for this "film" is to bring awareness to this illness we call suicide and to maybe touch someone we love who may be considering taking their life. So please help us turn this powerful story into a movie of "romance", "suspense", "drama", and a comedic relief every now and then.
