I like to work with contrast both in the visible result and in the storyline. contrasting the temporary with the "permanent." Making the fleeting fight with the perpetual. Making the fast-food society stand out against finesse. The durable craft versus the disposable. In my mind, I always know who I want to see emerge victorious in that fight. Specifically, on the one hand, I created a tangible and wearable work in which sheep's wool in its raw form gets mixed with synthetic stuffing, which is omnipresent today (think plush bears). You can felt wool, but you can't felt fiberfill; the fibers are too slippery for that. So I looked for another way to process the two. So I ended up with soluble fabric between which I put both materials and stitched them closed. On the other hand, I turned this into an audiovisual work, in which a main character struggles to find his way to purity. On his way, he encounters the ephemeral. He becomes tempted to choose the path of convenience but continues to strive for the pure, on the path of craft. The short film is filmed both digitally and analogue on pellicule. By starting to use both forms, this adds strength to the whole idea.
