ONE MAN ALONE é um espetáculo a solo, literalmente a solo. Sem contracena, nem operador de luz nem som, o ator vê-se assim obrigado a prosseguir o seu espetáculo interpretando e operando ao mesmo tempo a própria luz que o ilumina e a música que acompanha a cena. Tudo acontece numa padaria, naquelas horas da noite em que o padeiro faz pão e o resto do mundo sonha com ele. A ação desenrola-se através do jogo entre o padeiro rodeado por baguetes, papo seco, broas de milho, os seus instrumentos de trabalho e os sonhos que o fazem viajar pelo universo da imaginação e o catapultam para um mundo só seu, a altas horas da noite, e que o acompanham no amassar do pão. Talvez por uma necessidade de escape ele sonhe acordado. Talvez seja esse o fermento que faz crescer o seu pão. Todo o espetáculo assenta no virtuoso jogo físico do ator, na capacidade de se multiplicar nas várias personagens que dão vida às suas fantasias, nas várias funções do seu ofício, e na sua capacidade de surpreender através dum espetáculo onde a magia é aliada da simplicidade. ONE MAN ALONE is a solo performance. Literally: solo. Without side-by-side acting or light/sound operator, the actor is forced to carry his show on, interpreting and operating, at same time, the light that enlightens him and the music that goes with the scene. It all happens inside a bakery, at those nightly hours when the baker makes his bread and everybody else dreams with it. The plot evolves through the game between the baker, surrounded by baguettes, white bread, corn bread and his working tools, and the baker’s dreams, that make him travel through the imagination’s universe and transport him to his very own world, late at night and mixed with the bread making. Perhaps he dreams while awaken because he has a need for evasion. And maybe that is the yeast that makes his bread rise. All the show is supported by the actor’s talented physical game, his ability of multiplying himself in the several characters that give life to the baker’s fantasies and in the various areas of his trade; also, the ability of surprising, in a show where magic is a very close friend to simplicity.
