Having depleted my resources for survival, I left for New Zealand to try to recover financially and, upon my return to Australia, break free from the relentless cycle of hospitality that consumed all my time and constantly lowered my morale. I worked in a hotel there for five months, full-time, and the plan began to take shape gradually. I saved up to return to Australia and enroll in music school to earn a degree and position myself in the music industry. As agreed, after three months, I submitted my application. I was selected for an audition. Within a week, I had left New Zealand, returned to Brisbane, auditioned at the Queensland College of Music, and took an English test. And it worked! You can't imagine the emotion that swept over me when I learned that I had been accepted and that every day I was getting closer to what I wanted to do most in life... music.
