Selma is a 10 years old kid who lives with her mom in Istanbul. Her friends speak Turkish, English, Spanish and Italian. Istanbul is a special city to her because she loves the diversity and the humanity there. In June 2013, riots exploded in Gezi Park. Selma could witness and be part of this exceptional period of time for Turkey. Along with thousands of people she experienced with emotion, fear, hope and wonder, the fight for the protection of few trees that became a universal symbol of democracy. The kid’s eyes has observed the all situation and she is now taking us back to these special days when Erdem, Fritz, Hürrem, Küskünotu, Burak with thousand of others took the streets. It was a brave fight, a radical search for new rights as well as an extraordinary experience for solidarity amongst various realities. “The trees of Gezi” is a multimedia documentary. It is made of images, voices and music that shaped a state of mind carried away by the dream of a possible revolution.
