Today marks one year on from the collapse of the Rana Plaza Garment Factory in Dhaka, Bangladesh which killed 1133 people and injured over 2,500 WHO MADE YOUR CLOTHES ? People and the environment pay a heavy price for our clothes. Pressure to turn clothes around quickly and cheaply, leads to routine rights violations, child labour, exploitative wages and unsafe working conditions. Environmentally, textiles are a dirty and resource intensive industry. Find out who made your clothes. Ask retailers if they ensure decent wages and conditions in their factories. Help create a supply chain which lifts people out of poverty rather than consigning them to it.
