Jointly hosted by E.L. Haynes Public Charter School and Georgetown Day School, the UnCommon Alliance: STEM Conference brought together a coalition of high schools, private businesses, and government agencies on March 14, 2014 at the GDS High School. In addition to building collaboration between area schools and fostering connections among students, teachers, and policy advocates, this innovative conference also addressed the need to improve the recruitment and retention of women and minorities in STEM disciplines.
