"Descriptions" is an ongoing project looking at film production company logo animations – also known as "bumpers" – with visual descriptions provided by Deluxe Digital Studios, the Described Media Team at the National Captioning Institute, the Media Access Group at WGBH, and the respective film companies. The project is interested in the translation from cinematic image to textual description. I've no idea what your intentions are with this piece so at the risk of offending you (though that is not my intention) let me say that I find it terrifying. I'm serious. It is brilliant in its awful nihilism. This is how I read it. Truly scary. So well-done in its dead tone and technique as to be upsetting. […] In short: this may be the new wave of the horror genre. I'm seriously creeped out." – Jason Payne "I watched your movie and all of a sudden I felt like everything that I was writing became a description of something I had never seen. There were no emotions; my words all fell flat like clumps of dirt." – Michael Osman Footage sources: "Titanic" (Paramount, 1997); "Monsters, Inc."
