Iron Man is perhaps the most popular of the Avengers, simply because of the portrayal of Tony Stark by Robert Downey Jr. But beyond that, he has become a hero of the modern age-a middle-aged man who has no super powers, but the means and the mind to make the world a better place, and to protect those most important to him.
