The Himalayan region of Kashmir was once a global magnet for tourists.<br />After decades of conflict, however, the valley often referred to as paradise on Earth has seen a steady decline in visitors.<br />India and Pakistan have been fighting over the region since they gained independence from the British in 1947, and the valley has seen several uprisings.<br />On the Indian-administered side of the border, visitors are beginning to come back after what has been an unsettled year for Kashmir.<br />Al Jazeera's Sohail Rahman reports from Srinagar.
