ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION)<br/> <br />One person was killed and at least seven injured as Alawite and Sunni gunmen clashed in Tripoli in northern Lebanon on Sunday (May 19), the state-run National News Agency said.<br/> <br />The Lebanese army deployed in the districts of Bab al-Tabbaneh and Jabal Mohsen, shooting back on the continuous clashes in an attempt to stop them.<br/> <br />Fighting in that area of Tripoli between Alawite and Sunni militants has become common during the more than two-year conflict in Syria.<br/> <br />Bab al-Tabbaneh is dominated by Lebanese Sunni Muslims who support the Sunni-led uprising against Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and the Jabal Mohsen is an enclave of Lebanese Alawites, the same Shi'ite Muslim offshoot to which the Syrian leader belongs.<br/> <br />Tensions over the two-year civil war in Syria have frequently led to street fighting in Tripoli.
