The Billboard Music Awards were held in Las Vegas on Sunday (May 19) and Taylor Swift won the night's biggest honor - artist of the year. Taking to the stage, the singer thanked her fans for their loyalty.<br/> <br />Other highlights of the night included Justin Bieber receiving a mix of cheers and boos as he accepted the award for best male artist and Madonna - decked out in fishnet stockings and garters - was honored with an award as the top touring artist for her 2012 "MDNA Tour."<br/> <br />The night wasn't all fun and games, however. R&B singer Miguel attempted a stunt during his performance, jumping over a pit of fans and landing on a woman. The woman was struck by his leg and then hit the stage, but Miguel tweeted later that he met with her backstage and she was doing fine.<br/> <br />The Cannes film festival continued its run with Justin Timberlake hitting the red carpet. The singer-turned-actor joined Carey Mulligan and directing duo the Coen brothers for their film, "Inside Llewyn Davis
