North Korean researchers are making efforts to tackle the country's bird flu outbreak.<br/> <br />Reports of the disease at a Pyongyang duck farm were confirmed by the country's state news on Monday.<br/> <br />Video filmed by news agency KCNA for Reuters showed North Korean researchers at the country's main centre for new animal and bird diseases.<br/> <br />The center's chief researcher said that dozens of ducks have the virus, and as many as 160,000 have been killed in efforts to contain the flu.<br/> <br />North Korean authorities are checking the health of hundreds of residents as well as investigating poultry farms and the transport of living fowls.<br/> <br />An outbreak of a strain of bird flu in Asia in 2009 could have killed over half a million people, disease experts now believe.
