A Taliban attack on a compound affiliated with the United Nations in Kabul on Friday has left two civilians and one Afghan police officer dead.<br /> <br />A spokesman for the interior ministry said 10 Afghans, six Nepalese and one Italian were wounded in the incident.<br /> <br />The attack happened outside the International Organisation for Migration, which is affiliated with the U.N in Afghanistan.<br /> <br />A suicide bomber blew up a car outside the compound, followed by a gun battle between Taliban fighters and Afghan security forces.<br /> <br />Several buildings and residential homes were damaged in the crossfire.<br /> <br />The incident underscores concerns about how the country's security forces will cope with insurgencies after foreign troops leave by the end of 2014.<br /> <br />But for one resident who cleared up broken glass, the withdrawal can't come soon enough.<br /> <br />The foreigners are sheltering behind our children and families, this man said. We demand the government pull out the foreigners from our
